A Clean, Well-Lighted Place Of Her Own

A short time ago I looked at our house and realized that virtually every room had toys and books and stuffed animals. I wanted just one room that would not be preschooler-centered. So I cut our dining room in half (which we use about twice a year anyway) and created a playroom for Cricket so that all of her stuff would be in one place.

That was my plan - to reclaim some space of my own.

What I've realized is that she really needed a room of her own.

A space carved out just for her, to explore her passions, entertain her fantasies, find some peace; a place to think, act, play or just be.

Isn't that what we all need?

I love her room. I am 45 and am making a stamp room currently for myself (hubby doing the hard stuff!) I am a big crafter and have been using the basement for years, but the temperature, lack of light isolation and crickets that get in there somehow in the summer have made me want a room of my own upstairs. I even am painting it pink!
